Below are all the individual waterbabies photographed in front of a black background and a sheet of wood.
Two individual pieces have been sold and the remaining three are on display on a fence.
Bruce the Bronze Whaler Shark swims into 2018 Newport Sculpture Trail and the 25th Annual Ocean Care Day in Manly
I was inspired to create Bruce after learning about the amount of plastic pollution in the oceans. Bruce is a steel structure with skin made from repurposed fishing net sewn on with reclaimed fishing net removed from the ocean by Eco Divers Manly. Whales at the Australian Museum
Below is a photo of myself and my son with two of the three whales that I created on commission for Sydney's Northern Beaches Council in 2014 that were on display at the Australian Museum. They were there as part of the "First Australians" display. I was commissioned to create the structures of steel, and the beautiful woven coloured patches that form their skins were created by members of the public in my local community under the instruction and guidance of indigenous elders as part of the Weaving Bridges Project 2014. I am both honoured and humbled to see these beautiful creatures up on display. They took much planning and structural design in order to have them meet the visual design guidance of local indigenous artist Jessica Birk. It was a taxing project on every level for me, but the results speak for themselves. The project is a wonderful concept in bring together culturally diverse people.

Sculpture from Waste or Found Materials
This figure is made from used supermarket shopping bags and finished to resemble bronze. It was exhibited in Upcycle/Recycle Exhibition where it received the runner-up award. This exhibition was coordinated by local artist, designer and recycling activist, Stephanie Powell.
Under Lock & Key, 2014. Made from discarded keys, this open padlock was part of the Spring Discovery @ Stony Exhibition in August 2014, where it was sold.
The following gallery shows several pieces or series created from found objects, like discarded chairs, small parts from a discarded printer, discarded broken trophies and kitchen utensils and other pieces. Council clean-ups are a great resource to create sculptural forms.
Steel
The power of steel is indisputable. This material is so intrinsic and essential in our built environment and serves as a structural component in construction. Yet it can be moved, altered, melted, bent, shaped and reconfigured to create forms with a sense of fragility and transience.
Weaving Bridges Project 2014
The 2014 Weaving Bridges Project needed some 3D whales. I was commissioned by Warringah and Manly Councils to create the whale forms on which woven patches would be attached. The skins are woven patches created by members of the public in my local community under the instruction and guidance of indigenous elders.

Stone
Carving soapstone is almost meditative. "In the Palm of My Hand" 2014, Soapstone was created with reference to the issues surrounding Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, as part of a workshop run by Wendy Black, and a little bit too soon after corrective surgery.
