My favourite life drawing sessions are a combination of a model, a brilliant atmosphere and fine food. Gadjo Guitars make all of this happen at their Pure Bohemia evenings. On September 4th I went to one of these nights and had a blast. Sketching is the point but the music is a very lovely competitor to my consciousness. In fact the music wins out sometimes and I catch myself suspended in a moment of surreal still life, charcoal in hand while some exquisite violin or guitar or bass phrase takes me into a state of auditory hyper-sensitivity and I exist only because I hear.
Between those auditory moments, last time, I managed to get a couple of sketches down. Here they are:

Some friends came along as well, and I quickly sketched one of them, Harrison, as he was sketching the life model. Also I captured a quick impression of the fast moving fiddler, Ian Cooper.
Pure Bohemia & Gypsy Jazz is on again in a few short weeks at Lizotte's Dee Why, on the 16th October. It is a brilliant night's entertainment.
